Club Assembly
President John Watson introduced the Club Assembly as a planning night for the coming year.
Committee structure put in place with the four avenues of service in mind: Club Service, Vocational Service, Community Service and International Service.
John invited the chair of each committee to speak, informing the members of their goals and plans.
Phil Meagher is chair of Administration Committee, responsible for club meetings, communications, attendance and fellowship.
MEMBERSHIP - Chris Sutton.
Emphasis on recruitment and retention with a target of a 10% increase in membership.
Some initiatives:
Membership Survey to enable members to highlight concerns.
New members project with a budget and a mentor.
Budget for three members to attend R.L.I.
New member mentor.
Possibility of "Apprentice of the Year Award".
Club trainer to encourage members to participate in training sessions,
PUBLIC RELATIONS - Lou Hamon.
To promote the club and its activities to the public.
The club is fortunate to enjoy a good relationship with "The Numurkah Leader" who publish our media releases and photos.
This will continue to be fostered.
Facebook page and website also promote our activities to the public.
Communications essential within the club is important also.
Club bulletin takes on average 4 hours to publish, but only 50 - 60% of members bother to read it!!
The bulletin and emails are our method of informing and keeping members up to date.
ADMINISTRATION - President John informed the members that the $200 sub does not cover the cost of running the club.
Budgeting for RI dues, District Subs, Rotary Down Under subs, Club Runner membership, a further $70 is required per member.
Events such as O.J. stand and BBQs to be used to raise funds for club administration.
SERVICE PROJECTS - Jacque Phillips.
Key points:
Improving quality of life in community and internationally.
Stocktake of where we are in our community.
Make sure we are relevant and community is aware.
Recognition of effort in community and at club level.
Not always about money, maybe supporting community in partnerships.
YOUTH SERVICE - Jason Andrew.
Club projects include promotion and supporting Portsea Camp for under 11 year olds, and supporting Youth Science Forum for year 11 student.
Invitation to school captains to meet Rotary at a dinner meeting.
Promotion of RYLA and RYPEN.
VOCATIONAL SERVICE - Jeff Buzza
Continue supporting school with mock interviews.
Plan business visits and vocational speakers.
Consider:
Pride of Workmanship Award.
School Student Excellence Award.
Debating team.
INTERNATIONAL & FOUNDATION SERVICE - Julie Andrew
Support Foundation with Polio Plus program.
Support Rotary Health projects.
Raise money for Umoja Orphanage.
Consider an alternative schoolies giving students an overseas experience.

Attended joint meeting with RSL to plan approach to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder program
Fund raising ideas: Remembrance Run for motor bikes on 13th November to be co-ordinated by RSL.
