Blest with glorious weather a large crowd attended the unveiling of "Saluting their Service" mural and the "Numurkah Mob Memorial" both paying tribute to servicemen from Numurkah and District.
Proceedings commenced with a BBQ provided by Numurkah Rotary and Numurkah Lions Clubs.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
The Numurkah Town Band set the atmosphere prior to the ceremonies, with MC Rod Kilgour starting proceedings with the unveiling od the "Saluting their Service" mural conceived and erected by the Numurkah Development Committee.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Mr Ernest Jones from the Development Committee told of the process from concept to erection. Mrs Rosemary Kennett talked on the writing and publication of the book describing the panels and identifying the servicemen and women.

The "Numurkah Mob Remembered Memorial" unveiling and dedication followed the "Saluting their Service" mural ceremony.
Rotarian John Watson as MC welcomed relatives, guests and the community and introduced Rotarian Sieg Seiter who explained his concept for the project.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Amy Carr, granddaughter of Reg Cowan, spoke about her grandfather and the memories he left. Jim Kerr Vice-President of the 4th Anti-Tank Association told of their service.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Numurkah Mob widows, June Cowan, Melva McPherson, Pat Shannon and Kath Thornton unveiled the memorial.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
David Geddes recited the historic poem "Mates" mounted on his trusty horse "Bloke". Major General David McLachlan, Victorian RSL State President dedicated the memorial.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Kate Arnold, daughter of Gerry Shannon led The Lords Prayer, followed by Melva McPherson responding on behalf of the families of The Numurkah Mob.
