CLUB MEETING 12th FEBRUARY 2018


PRESIDENT JACQUE PHILLIPS welcomed members and guests, Alannah Wallace, Jane Wilson, Judy McDonald, Rex Shield, Andrew Davis, guest speaker Debbie Oliver.

  • RLI 23rd February.
  • Heart to Heart House visit Wednesday 14th. Meet at Heart to Heart House 26 Schier Street, Barmah at 6-6.15pm followed by dinner at Barmah Hotel. 
             Those wishing to car pool, meet at Mauric McNamara Real Estate at 5.30pm.
  • Debate on Thursday 15th February at Euroa.
  • Bowlsan - will co-operate with Cobram Rotary this year bur coordinate next year.
  • 5 riders to "Ride to Conference" to be sponsored $250 each by club. Money to Rotary Health.
  • Prostate Awareness BBQ planned.
  • 3 new members nominated.
  • SHAMROCK HOTEL venue for the next 4 meetings.
  • Saturday orange juice stall, raffle ticket sales at Lions Market. Also NDHS info stall.

GUEST SPEAKER: DEBBIE OLIVER.

 

Debbie Oliver principal of Numurkah Primary School.
Born in Nagambie, family sheep farmers, educated at St Josephs School Nagambie, Sacred Heart Seymour then Technical School in Seymour.
Avid reader, believing reading and literacy key to life.
After graduating deferred 12 months working as a clerk in Taxation Office.
Entered Rusden College graduating with a Batchelor of Education.
First posting to Goroke for 2 years, then Mooroopna Secondary College followed as Assistant Principal at Shepparton High School.
At Numurkah Primary aim to lift literacy and numeracy standards as well as social skills. Passionate in building leadership skills in teachers as well as students.
Numurkah Primary a vibrant school where students want to learn and be ready for transition to High School.
Debbie still passionate and enjoys teaching.

Debating round at Euroa on Thursday 15th with winner entering finals. Car pool leaving at 5.30pm.
