CLUB MEETING 8th  May 2017


PRESIDENT JOHN WATSON welcomed members and guest speaker Michael Tymnensen.

  • Welcomed back Lou Hamon from his Mediterranean Cruise.
  • Grant Deppler departing on Wednesday for his expedition to Mt. Everest Base Camp.
  • Board Meeting approved further financial assistance to Mikaela Wood to attend the Singapore Science Forum.
  • Lions Club Supper Dance 3rd June 7pm. Celebrating 100 years of Lions.
  • Financial support to RSL Club for Anzac Day sound system.
  • Financial Assistance to Numurkah Primary School for bus to Leadership Course.
  • District Changeover June 25th.
 

CHAIRMAN: P.P. ERNEST JONES:

After a number of jokes and humorous comments Ernest introduced the guest speaker Michael Tymnensen.

 

GUEST SPEAKER MICHAEL TYMNENSEN.

 
Michael Tymnensen
Came to district as a 10 year old with dairy farmer parents.
Joined Logan & Associates then Belmore's Accounting.
Has two daughters, 14 years and 16 years.
Serves on the boards of Numurkah District Health and Bendigo Bank.
Graduated in the Fairley Leadership Course, a 12 month community leadership program. Seminar days on a variety of topics with study tours to Melbourne and Canberra.
Learnt lots from community leaders - "Passion inspires and motivates people". Learnt to believe in himself, listen to others and give the right feed-back.
Works at keeping fit, played football now running and cycling.
Participated in 2012 Melbourne Mararthon, Oxfam Walk and Cycling 3 peaks - a 255 km ride from Falls Creek to Mt Beauty, My Hotham, Omeo and back to Falls Creek.

Requested members to advise of dates away to enable program roster to be drawn up for next year.
 
JULIE ANDREW:
 
30 days till Business Breakfast. 20 tickets sold. Tickets can be bought on-line or by cash at Learning Centre.
 
 
 
P.P. CHRIS SUTTON:
Police supportive of number plate screw program.
Meals on Wheels Friday if anyone can assist.
District Changeover June 25th. Will be attending Club Changeovers and members interested invited to attend with Chris. Nathalia 29th June, Tocumwal 4th July.
Attending Mooroopna E-Club Temple walk, talk and dinner on 24th May.
 
PRESIDENT JOHN WATSON:
Invitation to club to participate in the organisation of a New Years Eve event in Numurkah.
Members considered district served by Nathalia and Mooroopna Carnivals. 
 
JULIE ANDREW:
Numurkah Singers production of The Wedding Singer is now on with Squish as musical director.
 
P.P. TERRY BRENNAN:
Combined Service Club Dinner on Monday 22nd May.
 
ATTENDANCE:
Bill Hewson reported 22 present with 7 apologies giving a percentage of 62.
 
FELLOWSHIP:
June Hewson reported Bill Hewson birthday May 13th and Allen Canobie will have been in Rotary for 29 years on 11th May.
