An opportunity for some Community Service

We have had a late request to assist  with supplying our BBQ & one or two members over the course of the morning for a free sausage sizzle out the front of Cherish. 

 Abi the owner is keen to celebrate Father's Day & give back to community.  .  He has rallied support from the NAB  & Meat on Melville  & Show Us ya Wheel's Committee, and is sorting out his Council requirements. 

The request is the use of our BBQ Trailer from 8 30 am till 12 noon.  No financial assistance.   So we need someone available to transport the BBQ  and perhaps  over two shifts, having  one person to assist.

An opportunity for Community Service.

Our assistance has been request to provide a BBQ lunch for participants doing a "Poker Run" car Rally as part of the Show us Ya Wheels Weekend. 

A BBQ lunch of sausages and hamburgers to be ready by 1.30 at the Picola Pub.  Estimated 50 plus Cars  which is of course dependent on the date. 

Show Us Ya Wheels Street Events -  manning entry points , collecting entry fee/donations.   Stations to be announced prior to the day.

Rotary Club members will be assisting with preparation of food for catering at the Annual Numurkah Agriculture Show.   Assistance is required  in two areas on the day. 

1.In prepartion & packing  of sandwiches/ slices upstairs at Numurkah Club rooms upstairs.

  Serving sit down lunch -  warming, plating food,  devonshire tea 

2. Sales  in Kiosk   Serving packaged food, hot and cold drinks.

The Rotary Club of Numurkah is supporting a campaign aimed to advocate against Domestic and Family Violence while educating our community about the importance of Respectful Relationships.  Rotary Clubs across Australia as well as our Zone 8 region, are supporting the 16 Days of Activism Saying No to Domestic & Family Violence.

We are supported in this campaign by our local police, NCN Health Numurkah, The Orange Door and the  Moira Shire.

The Rotary Club of Numurkah is supporting this initiative through a community walk, sharing information and of course a free BBQ on Friday November 28^th.   The Walk starts at  the Rotary Train Park , gathering at 11 am . From there we will walk to Newman’s Square. 

Main focus areas of the campaign

 1. Raise Awareness and Advocate Raise public awareness of Domestic and Family Violence and advocate for a safer, more respectful society through community engagement and leadership.

 2. Encourage Reporting. By building trust and support within communities, we aim to increase the reporting of Domestic and Family Violence, ensuring that victims feel safe to speak out and seek help.
