Guest speaker Peter Chisnall born in Corowa spoke on his life journey, lucky to mix with people who have assisted him.
First football coach was a catholic nun who had a profound impact. Left high school aged 14 to become an apprentice butcher. Took up boxing with Jock Ambrose, empire title holder, who taught respect.
First senior game at age 15 1/2 coached by Frank Tuck.
In 1968 recruited to North Melbourne, as Ovens & Murray League zoned to North Melbourne.
First game with North Melbourne against Footscray with Ted Whitten playing, second game against Essendon then Fitzroy.
Asked to return to Corowa to finish apprenticeship and played in Corowa Football Club premiership.
In 1969 returned to North Melbourne with Brian Dixon coach, which was not a successful year. Transferred to Sandringham VFA club for 2 years. In 1974 Ron Barassi sought previous players.
1975 was a great year, married, first child died of cot death, greatness of football team with power of people around you when in need. Preliminary final against Richmond and grand final against Hawthorn with North Melbourne winning the premiership.
Following year in 1976 played Hawthorn in grand final with Hawthorn the victors.
In 1977 after an on-field accident retired.
Coached in Tasmania, and was state coach.
Ran the Tungamah hotel for 10 years, Peter commented that with out the support and backing of his wife. much would not have happened.
Commenced conducting training programs in prisons and has learnt not to judge people.
