ACTING PRESIDENT: Stephen Mills.

  • Welcome home the 4WD trippers.
  • Next week, no club meeting, board to meet at 6.30pm at Golf Club. Meal optional.
  • Congratulations to Waaia Cricket Club and Megsy.
  • Jennifer Roger has ordered a table at Monachino's for lunch, Saturday midday.
  • BBQ in park raised $335 for Good Friday Appeal.
  • Satellite Club postponed community BBQ due to bad weather.

CHAIRMAN - Michael Tymensen.

  • Attended 4WD trip. First experience of trip, most enjoyable with good camaraderie and with the catering spoiling attendees.
  • Tracey to stage an art exhibition in Shepparton.
  • Busy with tax returns.

 

GUEST SPEAKERS - Jesse Michel and Lacey Nicholson.

Jesse Michel, Executive Officer, Lacey Nicholson Chair and Treasurer Goulburn Murray Comunity Leadership Board.

JESSE a steward of the program, acting as Leadership Coach prior to becoming executive officer in 2023.

  • Program established because of need in regional areas. Footprint stretched from Echuca to Yarrawonga and down to Wallan.
  • Program run from March to October with in-person and online series of opportunities and discussion, bringing like-minded people interested in leadership together.
  • Personally, actively involved in community as Group Leader 1st Kyabram Scout Group. Involvement in community developed friendships and relationships.
  • In 2024 elected Deputy Mayor of Campaspie Shire. Showed how amazing the community can be by stepping up when needed

LACEY in 2022 wished to contribute, knowing growth does not happen if comfortable.

  • Program challenges, shifting minds and a powerful experience.
  • Leaders not about outcomes but people. Building on relationships, know how to connect and bring people with you.
  • Stepping into the uncomfortable, building confidence creating a network of people.
  • 30th Anniversary of program will be celebrated at a gala function

LACHLAN ANDREW.

A participant in his years program after attending the Moira Shire program encouraged to undertake the Failey Leadership program being bigger and better.

JANE BEARHAMz.

Employer GMCU encouraged her to join the program. Started with preconceived ideas, which were soon thrown out of the window. Program challenges you to think outside of the box.

 

REPORTS

KATE HODGE:

  • Pancake for Parkinsons Awareness Day Saturday 11th April in Newman Square,
  • NCN Health supporting event.

GEOFF STEWART:

  • Close to Changeover.
  • Members to think about what they want to do in Rotary as a committee member.

     

MARK McNAMARA:

  • No meeting next week.
  • April 13th Les Lawrence Shield bowls night at Bowls Club.
  • May11th Combined Services Dinner at Bowls Club. Lions hosting with a roast dinner $38 per head.

     

IVAN ROUTLEY:

  • Successful 4WD weekend with 41 paid but only 36 attended.
  • Everyone mixed well, fortunate to have David Geddes to provide some entertainment around the campfire.
  • Raised $3,300.

     

LOU HAMON:

  •  Mark McNamara's excellent photos on the trip can be viewed on our club Facebook page which have been shared to Rotary District the two Numurkah Groups and the Nathalia Group. Featured on home page of website and in Photo Albums on the right-hand side of home page of wensite under Executive. All photos can be viewed as a slideshow, full screen.

MARIE AUSTIN:

  • As a participant wished to thank the members for the preparation of the trip and Faye Holmes for the catering.
  • Wonderful weekend, encourage everyone to consider attending in the future.

     

ALLEN CANOBIE: 

Other things happen during the weekend, particularly around the campfire at night. Allen related an anecdote.

Promotion of Rotary and the satellite club in an interview on the radio.
