Re Meeting frequency

Alternate week meetings  - considered difficult to keep track of which week meeting will be held on!

There is an old fashioned thing called a diary to note things down, and now even a smart phone with reminders.

What ever happened to the 1st and 3rd Monday's in the month, to hard to remember?

If one misses a meeting or two, misses out on news.

This doesn't happen if weekly meetings? Hey. We have an excellent bulletin, just read it!

For "Formality" in  meetings.

The memorable Frank Thomas was great for this. "And now for the Past President, Secretary, Chairman and Treasurer etc" . It wasn't quite that bad, but went on and on. How much time was wasted.

Has the Club's T Shirt degraded standards of dress?

Can we get a Rotary Club Jacket and TIE? Ernest would be happy.

Sqish's comment re clapping.

I always have trouble when the Sargent gets clapped for introducing the President, who is it for?

Also clapping at the end of a report is the clapping for the quality of the report , or the fact that the person has finally finished!

Rotary for vocation Members in USA.

I always thought Rotary was for the Opportunity (some think Privilege) of service!

Heads and Tails

Rotary is not Religious or political. Is Heads and tails GAMBLING! Does paying money to participate make it worse?

Re Donor Prize being a Bottle of Wine

I'm catching up for all those years not drinking when on duty.

So wine is my retirement vocation, so is an appropriate gift.

Rotating Sargent.

This is my chance to embarrass or "offend" others and get away with it.

Jeff's position in the main street is ideal for collecting fines (smut).

Costs.

Should the 3+1 $4 collected at the meeting, be added to everyone's Subs even if they are not attending?

These also then become a Tax deduction!

The Cost of rotary is too high.

$200 subs. say 40 meetings a year then means $5 per meeting.

$4 ($3+$1) per meeting attended.  ($160) for the 40 meetings

A meal and a drink $20-25  so $800-$1,000 per year.

Where is the real cost of being in Rotary.

Rosters coming up for ?

-Chairman,

-3 minute talk

-Guest speaker

-Prize Donor

We used to have separate rosters for some of these. A  Nightmare  Current system works better .

And this would really upset those who couldn't even remember which night if Rotary on Alternate Weeks!
