CLUB MEETING 18th JULY 2022

PRESIDENT REX SHIELDS welcomed members.

PRESIDENT'S REPORT:

Service Providers meeting 28th July 11am Information Centre.
Joint meeting with Nathalia Rotary Club 8th August.
Board meeting tonight.
Lions Ladies High Tea 7th August 1.30pm. $15/head.

CHAIR: P.O. JACQUIE PHILLIPS:

Acute ward and Karinya in lockdown. Community transmissions, not staff transmissions.

Staffing situation critical with 28 testing positive over the three campuses and another 50 high risk pathway, reducing capacity.

GUEST SPEAKER: ASSISTANT GOVERNER LORRAINE GREENWOOD.

Assistant Governor Lorraine Greenwood advised the club on proposed changes to Rotary International structure.

Two pilot programs to test the "Regionalisation" process, Great Britain to be one with Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands the second.

A combined meeting with the Rotary Club of Nathalia to explain the proposed structure changes will be held on August 8th, meeting at the Waaia Hotel.

Clubs to vote in September whether to participate. with a two thirds majority required.

Expressions of Interest required for District Insurance Officer.

JEFF BUZZA:

NCN Health Community Connection at Waaia Hotel with Jeff Buzza as guest speaker, tomorrow night at 6pm. Registration required for free meal.

Farm Community Connect: A New Take on Community Connection, at the Waaia Hotel

We are very lucky to have local champion, Jeff Buzza as a guest speaker, who will share a bit about what connection means to him.

Previously residents of Waaia, Jeff and his wife Gayle have 3 children and 6 grandchildren, and now live in Numurkah.

They have run Numurkah Home Timber and Hardware for the last 12 years, and work hard to support local activities and clubs.

Jeff has been involved with Waaia Football Club, Numurkah Football Club, Numurkah and District Soccer Club, Baulkamaugh Tennis Club, Numurkah Rotary Club, as well as the NCN Health Audit and Risk Committee. He is also an attendee at the AAAAAM.

We look forward to joining you for a relaxing evening out with a good meal and great company!
