He started off by thanking the Rotary Club for the purchase of the new patient transport mule
He also mentioned the purchase of past vehicles with the help og the Rotary Club
Current long standing member Johnny Decker is also a founding member of the SES in 1977
The old Shire yards gave the SES part of it's area for it's training facility
The Tocumwal Search & Rescue combined with Numurkah SES to do training
In the beginning the department gave them 3 x ropes, 1x set of hand hydraulic equipment, 2 x lights, 2 x Dolphin torches and 2 x compasses to start the operation
in 1978 they were allowed to start responding to road accident rescues using members vehicles
In 1980 they moved to the Showgrounds and purchased an old ambu;ance vehicle to take to rescues
In 1988 the current building in Nelson St was opened
In 1992 the state department purchased their first dedicated rescue vehicle
In 2000 the SES funded their first 4WD a Toyota Hilux
The state put in 2/3 of funding and the SES put in 1/3
The group currently has 2 rescue vehicles, a 4WD and a boat
In 2008 and 2015 the operation expanded their shed to included more room for vehicles and an operations room
There are currently 23 members of Numurkah SES
The current area that is covered is from Numurkah down to Boundary Rd, up to Strathmerton and across to Barmah
Current hydraulic tools need replacing with new battery operate tools in the future which will require fundraising to purchase
The Rotary Club was given an extensive tour of the facilities and equipment by some current members
