President Steve Mills advised of the death of Richard Bail last week, former member of Numurkah Rotary Club, & a donation has been made on behalf of the Club to Kidney RND in lieu of flowers.
 
Jeff Buzza Toast to Rotary International
 
Response to Toast on behalf of Rotary International - DG Malcolm Kerr – Rotary International is the biggest service organisation in the world 1.25 million members to do our service in local communities & beyond.
 
President Steve Mills – this year’s moto– be the inspiration theme for the year. Introducing Julie Andrew to deliver an inspiration story.
 
Julie Andrew - Rotary drive to do more, to be more, to create something across the globe in ourselves - be moved to compel us to act. Inspiration story of Wayne Limerick, Rotary Club of Nathalia – Umoja Orphanage Project – fundraising in excess $100,000 with 3 visits to Kenya. Active in community & internationally with numerous attendances on boards. An inspiration & a wonderful example being the inspiration to his local community & family.
 
Presidential Address – Steve Mills
Presented a condensed version of his report detailed in the Annual Report, thanking current members of his Board for their contributions & acknowledging the success of the business breakfast raising $7,777 for Diabetes Research. Extensive visits were held for meetings off site for vocational service & achievements in Community service throughout the year.
He wishes Lorraine Greenwood well for her year as President & he has enjoyed his year where he has been challenged, informed, inspired & more aware of local & international communities & needs & more generous than he was a year ago. The year has changed him.
 
Terry Brennan – Community Service Award – Col McPherson was Pow during 2nd World War & upon his return became very involved in the Community. Col passed away in 1987 & the following year the award was named in his honour. Terry Brennan was awarded this award last year & this year’s recipient is Duncan McPherson for his outstanding service to this community. Duncan was educated in Numurkah & became a fitter & turner in Melbourne before returning after the death of his Father to manage McPherson’s Mensland. Duncan was always community aware & joined the Chamber of Commerce 33 years ago. Duncan & his partner Chris are very involved in the Foodbowl festival & movies in Numurkah. In 2013 they purchased a property in derelict condition in Melville St which they have restored to its former glory & is now a Bed & Breakfast.

Jacqui Phillips OAM = Vocational Service Award – on behalf of John Watson presented the Jack Duncan Vocational Award, excellence in vocation to Paul Arnel, Principal of St Joseph’s Primary School. Paul has lead the school community for 13 years, wherein the school has grown from 10 to 14 classrooms. He has been involved in Football & Netball Club with some years as President & is n a local leader in our Community.
Paul Arnel -  He is very proud of the work St Joseph’s has achieved, shared the experience with his wife Joanie & 5 children. He looks forward to sharing the award with his school staff.

District Governor – Malcolm Kerr, Great honour for him to carry out the induction of a new Rotary year for our Club. Lorraine Greenwood became President & Lorraine introduced her new Board, President Elect Jennifer Rodger, Secretary Kay Moodie, Treasurer Jeff Buzza, Club Administrator Jennifer Rodger, Foundation & International Marie Austin, Community Service Julie Andrew, Vocation Sally Rose, Youth Service Linda Boyd, Past President Steve Mills.
 
President Lorraine Greenwood – welcoming distinguished guests & past president’s Past District Govenor’s, partners & friends, other service club members & her family. Has been a member for 7 years so she has lots of time to learn what Rotary is about & the responsibility to take on the role & considers that we have a healthy club with a wealth of knowledge from many long standing members & enthusiasm from new members.
