CLUB MEETING 4th DECEMBER 2017


PRESIDENT JACQUE PHILLIPS welcomed members and guests.

  • Advent Calendar daily draw taking place.
  • Christmas Break up next week now at the home of John & Linda Watson, 33 Maple Crescent.
  • Carols on Friday 22nd, Rotary BBQ. Volunteers required from 6pm
 
President Jacque with Membership Director Kate Hodge introduced and presented badges to Kris Walker, Helen Humphreys and Greg Moralee, joining Allanah Wallace as "Friends of Rotary".

GUEST SPEAKER: JULIA ARHO.

Julia has spent 30 years in financial services the last 5 years with Bendigo Bank as Customer Relationships Manager.

Bendigo Bank gives back to the community with Community Grants each year with a limit of $20,000 to not-for-profit groups.

Bank has given $380,000 in Community Grants, with another $135,000 in Sponsorships.

Employ 35 staff, spending $2.35 million in major projects, including new DSE building, opened branch in Numurkah, built the Nathalia Early Learning Centre, residential blocks in Bourke Road and Endeavour Court. Developed a Nathalia Economic Strategic Plan and a Numurkah Economic Strategic Plan.

Customers currently on the average two products with Bendigo Bank, if raised to four products would give extra $747.500 back in profits.

Grants are given to not-for-profit organisations for projects that benefit the community.

There will be other project committees formed throughout the year on a needs basis, this will give members more opportunity to be involved in serving their community

Daily prize winner in the Advent Calendar draw are on Facebook and Website.

On Facebook Day 1 reached 1029 people, Day 2 397, Day 3 247, Day 4 104. With 36 new "Likes: for the week. Website "hits" for Day 1 60, Day 2 43, Day 3 62.

This is good publicity as they are exposed to the club and our activities.

Art Show entry forms have been posted.

Advent Calendar draw on display on notice board in Home Hardware window, will feature 3 days only. Winners will be contacted by phone, 1352 calendars sold.

Carols will have more community singing with less solo items, starting at 8pm.
