Lorraine proposes that the Chair person that governs the weekly meeting to organise toast & grace for members, individual members to do the toast propose who they want to toast, 4 way tests to be read out at the end of the meeting; acknowledgement of country to be included at special meetings, joke to be optional by Chair; perhaps offering pens or wine glasses to guest speakers; updating brochures for our Club; Club forum each week members to be able to speak freely each week; Welcome officer needs filling – Bill Hewson not wanting to continue, Katrina Donaldson to take on the role; Attendances to be strived to achieve 100%, if you do a make up meeting you can register it on Club Runner if you attend other events; Scatter night, all members divide up & attend different clubs that week, great way to meet other club members.

Change to procedure of meetings, stream lining of rolls for President, Chairman; Meeting Schedule – 2 month blocks with Rotary focus, catering nights for organisations to cater for meals, any drink sales to come back to Club for administration fees; fellowship nights (guess who is coming to dinner);

Art Show – Labour Day Long Weekend annual commitment;

4WD Weekend – annual commitment;

Kiosk – 1 Saturday morning per month;

Car Raffle – annual commitment;

Open Garden Scheme – 5 or 6 gardens to inspection $5 entry or $20 all garden pass;

Combined Clubs Koala Raffle – Sieg Seiter has ideas to target tourists on Murray rather than our local community, proposes of selling tickets between October to January, selling tickets for $2.50 each ie. 2 for $5 could raise $12,000 with other Clubs on the Murray to assist, ie. Yarrawonga, Cobram, Tocumwal, Echuca & Nathalia etc. Drawing to be on Australia Day. $30,000 required for preliminary research is required to look for a cure for scabies in Koalas – no-one currently knows how to treat them. Sydney University & Melbourne University are interested in writing a proposal once funding is secured for research. 300 koalas have died of the disease within 5 years. $13,000 raised all ready. Pick Your Project provided $130,000 but those funds can’t be used for research. Majority of Members supported the idea that other Rotary Clubs be contacted to ascertain if they support the project.

Samuel Johnson – Fundraiser – Jennifer Rodger reported that contact has been made with “Save Your Sister” campaign to ascertain if they would be interested in coming to Numurkah for a dinner & fundraiser for cancer research. Possible dates to be advised soon.

Business Breakfast – Members requested to consider some possible suggestions for Speakers.
