CLUB MEETING 15th OCTOBER 2018
Past President Jacque Phillips welcomed members and guests & Past District Governor Bernie Bott to the meeting.

PP Jacque Phillips mentioned that she has been travelling to Melbourne to see her mother whom has been unwell and is now on the road to recovery from a heart bypass surgery. Jacque mentioned that NDHS was nominated and won the Excellence in Public Service in Aged Care Award and a finalist in the Premier’s Small Health Service of the Year category.
Joan Barker Chairman for the night and was Guest Speaker telling about her life growing up in Diggers Rest for 20 years on a dairy farm with no irrigation. She was a 4th generation dairy farmer. Travelled to school on a Shetland pony and began riding horses as a hobby that turned into showing/hunting and jumping horses at competition level. Joan was invited to ride for Queen Elizabeth’s visit to Australia where she met a lot of celebrities.
Joan invited husband John to show some 4WD photos from past trips and encouraged new and old members to come along for fellowship and friendship at upcoming trips.
Past District Governor Bernie Bott presented PP Jacque Phillips and the Numurkah Rotary Club with an International Presidential Citation for 17/18 Rotary year. PDG Bernie Bott announced that as the President for that year we had met 26/27 goals set for the year.
Sergeant Tim Gleeson from Numurkah Police Station talked to the club about the Head to Head Walk from Gippsland and Mildura to Wangaratta to raise money and awareness of Mental Health Issues amongst retired police members. They are hoping to raise $500,000. PP John Watson announced that the Board had approved a donation of $250 to the project and Jeff Buzza was presenting the cheque to Sergeant Gleeson the next day.

Susan Alberti confirmed as coming as our Guest Speaker for Business Breakfast on Tuesday 2nd April 2019. We are very lucky to have such a high calibre speaker coming to Numurkah. Announced a quick committee meeting after main meeting.

5 Rotarians and some Lions members did some renovation work on the cemetery shelter on Sunday 14th October and Terry Brennan had made and replaced some decorative pieces for the shelter.
