CLUB MEETING 30th JANUARY 2023


PRESIDENT REX SHIELDS welcomed members and guests Wilma Crowthers, Margaret Henderson, Christine & Rob Lothian, Sue Church and Colin Steel, Rennie McDermott.

 

PRESIDENT'S REPORT:

  • Australia Day Ceremony Rotary scooped the pool receiving Art, Culture, Environment Award for Community Bus Appeal, Community Event of the Year for 75th Anniversary Soldier Settlement Scheme and Certificate of Appreciation as the Organisation of the year.

 

  • Art Show meeting tonight.
  • BBQ Saturday morning Newman Square, 6 volunteers required.
  • Next week scatter night.

 

President Rex inducted Wilma Crowther into the Rotary Club of Numurkah.

CHAIR & GUEST SPEAKER: MICHELLE SQUISH DAVIS.

Last year spent 2 days a week at Numurkah Primary School and 2 days at Verney Road Primary School Shepparton. This year 4 days at Verney Road Primary School as a Music Therapy teacher.

Aim is to encourage kids to work towards goals, using and playing instruments which help develop social skills.

On Wednesdays Music Therapy private practice.

Squish then had members engaged in trivial pursuits and games.

Winner of Barrel of Monkeys.

 

REPORTS

A.G. LORRAINE GREENWOOD:

  • Next weeks meeting is a Scatter Night with members visiting other club's meetings. Opportunity to meet other Rotarians, discover how other clubs function and allow other clubs get to know about Rotary Club of Numurkah. Contact details will be emailed to members.
  • Thanks to Rotariand who assisted with catering at Nagambie Regatta.
  • Rotary Friendship Exchange programing a visit to Sweden in October. Rotarians will be hosted for 10 days by local Rotarians; Swedish Rotarians will visit in May 2024.
SECRETARY JENNIFER ROGER:
  • Christmas card from Ruth Rhodes, an exchange student in 1967.
  • Thank you from Vinnies for donation.
  • Invite to NCN Health AGM.
  • Agriculture Society congratulations on Australia Day Awards and request for use of BBQ.

Art Show raffle ticket sellers for Thursday, Friday & Saturday required.

Agricultural Society seeking a Secretary at their AGM in March.
