The Rotary Club of Numurkah is supporting a campaign aimed to advocate against Domestic and Family Violence while educating our community about the importance of Respectful Relationships. Rotary Clubs across Australia as well as our Zone 8 region, are supporting the 16 Days of Activism Saying No to Domestic & Family Violence.
We are supported in this campaign by our local police, NCN Health Numurkah, The Orange Door and the Moira Shire.
The Rotary Club of Numurkah is supporting this initiative through a community walk, sharing information and of course a free BBQ on Friday November 28th. The Walk starts at the Rotary Train Park , gathering at 11 am . From there we will walk to Newman’s Square.
Main focus areas of the campaign
1. Raise Awareness and Advocate Raise public awareness of Domestic and Family Violence and advocate for a safer, more respectful society through community engagement and leadership.
2. Encourage Reporting. By building trust and support within communities, we aim to increase the reporting of Domestic and Family Violence, ensuring that victims feel safe to speak out and seek help.
