Irlen Syndrome is a visual processing problem which appears to be caused by a defect in one of the visual pathways that carries messages from the eye to the brain.
Discovered in 1983 by Helen Irlen, it is a brain allergy to susceptive spectrums of light.
Irlen Syndrome can affect both adults and children, and show one of the following symptoms, reading difficulties, poor handwriting,. poor depth perception, light sensitivity, underachievement, headaches and migraine.
The Irlen Method has been used for nearly 30 years to identify and help people with Irlen Syndrome. The Irlen Method determines which precision-tinted coloured overlays and filters produce the most effective elimination of the symptoms.
Rebecca herself was diagnosed with Arlen Syndrome after a serious car accident resulting in migraines.
