- nurse by trade (trained at GV Health, went on to do A&E nursing and midwifery
- wife is also a nurse
- Persistence -
- sometimes the right thing to do is stressful
- had to work hard to get where I am
- recently completed a PhD
- It's OK to NOT know the answers -
- coping with fearing failure & coping with uncertainty
- had to learn to be a leader

- You've got to think outside the box to solve problems - 'surf lifesaving' initiative helped implement a 12 step 'falls prevention' strategy in aged care which reduced falls to a ten-year low
