Ruth Konig, guest speaker at the 7th April meeting spoke on her Camino Pilgrimage.
Together with a friend undertook the 900 km walk over 47 days in September to October 2013.
Chose to start in France, walking 250 km over The Pyrenees into Spain then onto Santiago.
Real joy of the Camino were the people you meet along the way. Camino attracts people of goodwill.
Walking from church to church, cathedral to cathedral, participating in services for pilgrims had an enormous religious impact.
Meet goals, which were:
To celebrate life.
To meet a real challenge
To raise funds for Dayspring Children's Village in South Africa.
In concluding Ruth commented that it was a life changing experience.
